YYC’s Block Party

YYC Block Party
Presented by Youth Central, this is the second annual all-ages celebration that took place at Eau Claire Market! The event included local agency booths, games, vendors, DJs, workshops, entertainment, speakers, a Street Dance battle, and local visual artists.

The goal of the event was to unite the youth of Calgary together in a mission to engage and connect young people with their local communities, celebrate current youth involvement, as well as inspire other youth to become leaders and make a difference.

Attendees learned about the different ways to give back to their community through the opportunity to speak directly with local organizations and the chance to sign up for opportunities onsite.

YYC’s Block Party partnered with Pulse Studios to bring the Change the Game: Battle Up Series. This is a Street Dance competition in five categories: House, Popping, Breaking, Hip Hop, and All-Styles (Youth Battle Only). Five camps for the Change the Game Camp will be awarded to the winners of each category (a value of $750 each).
